Jesus declares He is God

Is Jesus God?

Why did Jesus declare: "It is finished!"?

Jesus, the man without sin, made the perfect sacrifice

Hebrews 9:22  … without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness

Hebrews 10:12-14 12 But when this priest had offered for all time one sacrifice for sins, he sat down at the right hand of God, 13 and since that time he waits for his enemies to be made his footstool. 14 For by one sacrifice he has made perfect forever those who are being made holy.

1Peter 1: 18-19 18 For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of life handed down to you from your ancestors, 19 but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect.

Colossians 2:13-14 13 When you were dead in your sins and in the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made you alive with Christ. He forgave us all our sins, 14 having canceled the charge of our legal indebtedness, which stood against us and condemned us; he has taken it away, nailing it to the cross.

In the time of Moses the arrangement of the different tribes of Israel was in the form of a cross - God loves symbolism especially this one which shows His love for man (click to see the figure in Part 2A)

Only Jesus can save (no one else)

All we need to do is to place our faith in Him

Acts 2:38 Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit

Acts 16:30-31 30 He then brought them out and asked, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?” 31 They replied, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved—you and your household.”

Romans 10:13 “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”

Issue #9: Salvation - the process | Top

How can we be saved?

Ephesians 2:8-9 8 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— 9 not by works, so that no one can boast.

Romans 10:9-10 9 If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved

What will we do?

  1. Recognize our sins and be sorry
  2. Confess these to the Lord (1John 1:9)
  3. Believe in the Lord Jesus as the only way to heaven and He is Lord of all
  4. Make Him the Lord of your life from now on

1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness

You can pray this short prayer of faith (there are several simple ways; this is a suggested prayer) to express your desire to accept the Lord Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior

It is the attitude of your heart and not the length and quality of your words that will make a difference. Your sincerity will be known by the Lord and if this is the prayer of your heart, then He is "willing to forgive you your sins and purify you from all unrighteousness".

You will then become a believer of the Lord Jesus Christ and stand righteous before the Father. Your name is now in the Book of Life.
